This licence will allow you to operate motorcycles and mopeds in Alberta.


To begin the learning process, you must be at least 16 years of age, and carry
at least a Class 7 Learner's Licence.

• Step One
  Make sure you are eligible to take a Class 6 motorcycle licence road test.
  
  You must have at least a Class 7 learner's licence.
  If you are taking this test for reinstatement purposes, contact the registry before you book to confirm that you are eligible to take a Class 6 motorcycle road test.

  Schedule and purchase online through PayPal.
  
• Step Three
  Don't forget to arrive at least 20-25 minutes prior to your scheduled road test, which will allow you the time to obtain your prepaid test permit.
  Your road test cannot begin without this permit, which is included in the price of your online reservation.

  If you pass your road test, you can reclassify your existing licence, to include Class 6.
  Tips and Tricks

  To avoid two trips to the registry, arrive 20-25 minutes prior to your scheduled road test to allow time to receive your test permit.
  Your road test cannot proceed without this permit.

  The Class 6 motorcycle road test will take 45-60 minutes in time.

  Don't forget to also bring important documents such as:

  • Your existing operator licence
  • Valid
    insurance
    &
    registration
    for the motorcycle you will test with
  • Test permit (which you will receive at the Registry when you arrive and confirm your reservation)

  Without these documents, your Class 6 motorcycle road test can not begin, and will result in the forfeit of related fees (service fee and reservation fee).

  You must provide your own testing motorcycle or moped

  Ensure that the vehicle that you are using to take your road test is in proper working condition, such as:

  • Signal lights
  • Brake lights
  • Headlights
  • Horn
