Learner's Practice Test Graduated Licensing in Alberta Eligibility Matters

Alberta Class 5 Basic GDL - Eligibility
  1. You must hold a class 7 Leaner's Operators Licence for 1 continuous year.
    This means that you are free from any suspensions for at least a 1 year period.

    If you have had a suspension within the year, you must start your continuous 1 year again from the date that you reinstate your suspended licence at the registry.
  2. You must be at least 16 years of age.

  3. Other factors that could affect your eligibility are:

    • Un-paid Fines
    • Medical Conditions
    • Maintenance Enforcement
    • Re-instatement Conditions
    • Proper Documentation

  4. The vehicle you provide must be in proper working order. The following factors may affect your eligibility:

    • Working Brake Lights

    • Sufficient Fuel
    • Mirrors
    • Unobstructed Windshield
    • Windshield Washer Fluid
    • Working Windshield Wipers
    • Brakes
    • Horn
    • Valid Registration
    • Valid Insurance
